Compared to the other kinds of social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, Google plus is among the newest ones in line. However, this never hindered it from becoming a powerhouse, providing benefits in many ways. Though it may not rival with the other social networks in terms of numbers, it grows quickly and has been the home of diverse communities spanning from writers, techie, artists, to the regular users. In spite of the fact that it is a new one, building an authoritative account in G+ is easier compared to other networks.

G+ Profile

G+ allows people to create their personal profile. Different information can be added, and the more is better. An authoritative account will show that you are a real person, while a blank slate never does so. When doing this, putting a name is not enough, though. A good profile picture with your real face is necessary. Add your personal details and it would be better if you can link it to your other websites or accounts. It will allow the other followers to learn more about you and to establish interaction on different platforms. At the same time, you have to exert some time to customize a background image. Good thing that Google offers various features that would be helpful in generating a customized background. Moreover, your profile should reflect who you are. It should be unique and original to present that you are not a spammer or a bot.

G+ Circles

Facebook has friends and Twitter has followers. On the other hand, G+ has circles. These are a group of users that you have gathered for different reasons. Circles are an important tool. The users can be grouped into configurations that you want. In this case, the sky is the limit. You can create a circle for anything. And of course, you can put different people in more than one circle. In order to use circles strategically, you have to share content with other circles. This would allow you to tailor a message for every audience type.

Comment and Share

No one would ever like a user who is simply posting his own content. Social media is not about being a one-way street. You have to take some time to share great posts of others. If you want your content to be shared, you have to do the same with others. Eventually, you will find out that it is more than sharing, especially if you want to establish a relationship with followers. In order to do so, you have to interact with them and those that you follow. You can comment on their posts, answer questions, or respond to the comments left on your posts.

Furthermore, if you want to establish an authoritative account, then you have to post an authoritative and original content too. Provide your audience with a content that they cannot simply get from anywhere else. You should never allow yourself to be a copy of others. You have to be your own and find followers who will appreciate the quality of your posts and account.
